This site is very much a democratic learning experience, and we need to work together to build the body of information available. Its success depends on people in the dementia community posting information and engaging in discussion. You can to post information in the form of documents, links, video, podcasts and blog commentary on this page. You can also have a dialogue with other people in the sector by setting up a discussion group.
If you have information/document(s) you would like to post about this page, click the button below.
If you would like to talk with others, follow these instructions for setting up a discussion group.
This file includes research done up until this year in the Framework area: Assessment, Diagnosis, Early Intervention and Ongoing Support"
The literature is based on Prasadaro's (2014) report which is located elsewhere on the Portal. However, it has been updated to the first half of 2016 and revised so that only work done on New Zealand population is included.
The articles are arranged under the headings in the NZ Framework for Dementia Care, to more easily see what might be missing (and have commented where there seem to be glaring absences). Most of the articles / theses have links to where the abstract, at least, can be accessed.
There are a few articles included that are opinion pieces or reviews, but I left them there if they might be interesting. I will present the "pure" research and what I see as the gaps, at the Alzheimer's Conference in November.
This is a work in progress and certainly unlikely to be complete, so if anyone knows of research I have missed, either add it to this site or email me at email@example.com.
Also, could you let me know if I have included your research under the wrong heading.
