About New Zealand Dementia Cooperative

Updated on: 11-Jul-2019

The NZ Dementia Cooperative exists to improve the lives of people affected by dementia. We do this by supporting the dementia workforce to do their best work. Our vision is a country where people affected by dementia are enabled to live their best lives possible, through the provision of leading, evidence-based dementia care.

Dementia affects thousands of Kiwis, both people living with it, and their surrounding whanau/family and friends. Professional support in NZ is provided by a workforce made up of hundreds of clinicians, care workers, service agencies, educators and researchers, all passionate about improving the lives of those affected by dementia.

The NZ Dementia Cooperative exists to support the dementia workforce through the advancement and implementation of best practice, evidence-based dementia care. We do this in a number of ways: we champion best practice dementia care and collaboration, we facilitate research, we drive awareness and we influence policy makers in order to promote the most effective care possible.

By striving for the provision of high quality care, we are enabling the best possible outcomes for everyone impacted by dementia. Through our work, we aim to uplift the lives of Kiwis affected by dementia, so that together we can all live our best lives possible.
