Connecting with CNS' in dementia

Hi,

I am a CNS for complex dementia at BOPDHB and trying to look at developing and growing my role and keen to connect with others in the same/similar roles to exchange ideas.

Please contact me on lisa.rogers-owen@bopdhb.govt.nz if you are a CNS in a DHB and spend the majority of your time based in residential care, especially dementia level of care.

Any ideas/help or support appreciated

Lisa

Hi Lisa, were you thinking about setting up an informal interest group if you got a few CNSs interested? If you were we could put an item in the newsletter?

Hey, Lisa! I PMed you regarding your question.

I have a lot of experience in this matter. I worked for many years at a couple of assisted living properties in California, and I will be glad to share my experiences with you. Also, I have two elderly parents with dementia as well. Hopefully, the government cares about older adults in my country. One of the best options is to apply for a special elderly program that will help elderly people get the proper treatment in specialized places. For example, you can check California's list of qualified assisted living properties, approach their manager, and ask them to share their experiences with you.
