Music and dementia resources launched

A new website and free resources from the BBC focus on the uplifting potential of music for people living with dementia.

The Music & Dementia at the BBC website was launched on 26th March 2020. The BBC  is working with the UK music industry to help raise awareness and to give people living with dementia easier access to music in all its forms. More than 100 organisations are involved in the initiative.

Some of the highlights include;

  • Musical Guide for people with dementia and their carers during Covid-19: a practical guide to finding music and making a playlist

  • BBC Music Memories:  includes clips from archive and music-based radio content from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. These have been edited into a one-and-a-half hour programme for each decade, accompanied by a printable activity guide.
